Department of Philosophy

Founded in 1953, the Department of Philosophy at Chung-Ang University has stood at the heart of Korean humanities for over seven decades, asking the most fundamental questions about humanity and the world through deep engagement with both Eastern and Western philosophical traditions. We pursue intellectual maturity by combining rigorous reading of classical texts with philosophical analysis of contemporary problems. By weaving together the logical precision of Western philosophy and the practical wisdom of Eastern thought, our mission is to cultivate critical thinkers who can discern enduring values in a rapidly changing era.
